We came across this stall (1 Soi Thong Lor Road, Sukhumvit Soi 55, Klongtunnua Wattana, Bangkok 10110) on the way to Soul Food Mahanakorn (which happened to be closed for renovations as we found out the hard way). Apparently this shop is well known for good quality khao niao mamuang - or also commonly known as mango sticky rice.
We bought a box of those and true enough, it was delicious. It probably helped that the mangoes were in season now. Maybe it was because of the weather but the mangoes were warm. Citrusy-sweet and juicy which was a joy to eat with the tender glutinous rice and salty coconut sauce. They were also noticeably more expensive than what most vendors were selling these things for.
Aww! You guys are in bkk too. Hello from a long time reader of your blog! Just got into the city yesterday too, hope you all have a good trip!

Thanks ming! We always try to have an amazing trip whenever we're in. Have a great one too! :)
ReplyDeleteSure will do! The sudden downpours are really irritating though. Were you guys at wattana panich for lunch? Heard some sg English. Lol. Walked past after noodles at arunwan just across the street.
DeleteNot us there. Lots of sgreans around almost everywhere we went. The accent is unmistakeable. Haha!
