Actually, no one has mentioned. Can you specifically describe what about the black that makes it difficult for you?
The original color from this template was white which I personally found more difficult to read as it had less contrast against the grey words. I left the words as grey since it wasn't as glaring as white text on black background and that white text wouldn't show up on the sidebars.
