More food from Du Du Dumplings (嘟嘟饺子)

Du Du Dumplings (嘟嘟饺子), stem lettuce salad 凉拌莴笋

Trying a few more stuff at Du Du Dumplings. That above was their stem lettuce salad or in Chinese, 凉拌莴笋 - what I found online to be either lettuce stem or celtuce. Flavour was a hint of saltiness, pretty refreshing and the texture crisp with vegetal crunch.

Du Du Dumplings (嘟嘟饺子), lu rou fan 卤肉饭

Lu rou fan. Haven't much to measure this against but it's not a bad tasting bowl. Different spice profile in the 卤 compared to the neighbouring Lee Lai Jiak. This one seems to have more star anise...I taste a pattern here.

Du Du Dumplings (嘟嘟饺子), green bean soup

Green been soup for dessert. Light sweetness, larger than usual variety of green beans used and I thought I tasted something herbal which I couldn't identify. Pleasant.

Indomie goreng with ayam geprek from Dapur Penyet

Dapur Penyet, indomie goreng ayam geprek

Hmmm...pretty nice fried smashed chicken which was both tender and crispy. I like this as much as the sate version.

Wen Kang Ji (文康記), Food Junction @ Lot One

Wen Kang Ji (文康記), scrambled egg char siew rice

Wen Kang Ji has a stall at the Food Junction in Lot One (#04-16 Lot One, 21 Choa Chu Kang Avenue 4). This was the char siew rice with scrambled eggs which I don't think they had on menu previously. Pretty decent tasting. Scrambled eggs were creamy and savoury and the rice was moist. The chilli sauce rocked. Char siew was okay-ish. Seemed to be better back in the past. Because we've had Char Siew Yoong recently, the mind reaches back in comparison which seemed almost unfair. 😅 Anyways, this had nothing on Char Siew Yoong. Not even close.

Tea Garden, Subang Skypark Terminal

Tea Garden, Subang Skypark Terminal, Kuala Lumpur

We've seen Tea Garden around in this trip to KL but ended up eating at the branch at Subang Airport (G15, Lpg Trbg Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, Lapangan Terbang Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah, 47200 Subang, Selangor, Malaysia) while waiting for our flight back.

Tea Garden, michael jackson

Hot Michael Jackson. There was a lot of flavour from the grass jelly in the drink. Not bad.

Tea Garden, fried rice

Unexpectedly and pleasantly surprised by their Tea Garden Special Fried Rice. This was pretty much their rendition of yang zhou fried rice with chicken char siew instead of the pork variety. There were a few whole prawns in the plate instead of chopped up or puny ones. Nice smokiness from the scorched grains and impressively no excessive grease.

Tea Garden, nasi lemak

Nasi lemak also pretty good tasting. There's achar in this plate which I liked.

Tea Garden, chicken char siew bao

Not bad chicken char siew bao. Tasted like regular char siew bao without pork fat flavour.

Tea Garden, bean curd gula melaka

Tau huey with gula melaka. We got this thinking it would be a rich and thick drizzle of the palm sugar but it was kinda diluted.

Anjappar, Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur

Anjappar, Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur

Weeeee....Anjappar at Brickfields (136 Jalan Tun Sambanthan, Brickfields, 50470 Kuala Lumpur, tel : +60 3-2273 3812)!

Anjappar, orange lassi

First time having an orange lassi. The drink was a little thin with the yoghurt but one could definitely tell that it was made with fresh orange juice.

Anjappar, chicken 65 briyani

Love their chicken 65 briyani. The chicken tasted freshly fried and was deliciously spiced/salted. Rice was expectedly true to form from them; savoury and flavourful of the warm spices. Good enough to eat on their own.

Anjappar, eggs kalaki

We had an order of their eggs kalaki - scrambled eggs which were lightly spiced and nicely done if I might add.

Anjappar, masala chai

Masala chai's pretty good here. Much better flavour from the masala than the ones back in Singapore.

Kenny Hills Bakers on The Park, The Exchange TRX, Kuala Lumpur

Kenny Hills Bakers on The Park, The Exchange TRX, Kuala Lumpur

Dinner at the Kenny Hills Bakers at TRX (The Exchange TRX, PL05, PL06 & L04, Park Level, Persiaran TRX, Tun Razak Exchange, 55188 Kuala Lumpur).

Kenny Hills Bakers on The Park, smoked haddock leeks gruyere toastie

Their smoked haddock toastie with leeks and Gruyere was so good.

Kenny Hills Bakers on The Park, smoked haddock leeks gruyere toastie

Smoky from the fish, salty and cheesy amid all the butteriness in the toasted bread.

Kenny Hills Bakers on The Park, steak bone marrow croissant pie

There was a dinner only steak, bone marrow and croissant pie which sounded interesting. The top crust was a buttery croissant with a bone wedged in the middle. Yes there was marrow in that bone.

Pie was not bad tasting as a whole and was pretty rich with the gravy and the crust. The lean slices of meat in the pie was plentiful but got boring after a while though.
