We found out about Char Siew Yoong (23 Jalan Pudu Ulu, Taman Pertama, 56100 Kuala Lumpur, tel : +012 213 7163) by way of recommendation and came for brunch.
No prizes for guessing what we came here to eat.
Place was already pretty crowded at brunch time during the weekend.
Both char siew and roast pork were well done. These were top notch quality roasts.
Tender at the connective parts and chewier at the caramelized areas. Siu yoke has pretty crunchy crackling.
We had seconds.
What's also impressive was their spicy and sour pickled mustard soup which had bits of pork belly and fat in it. The pickled mustard had a pretty impressive depth of flavour.
Rice here appears to be chicken rice, albeit one that was lightweight. Great pairing with their house made garlicky chilli sauce.
