Which consisted of their delicious lobster bisque. It seems that there're no dumplings in them anymore.

Supper from Tsui Wah (翠華)

That would be supper with 茶走 by the way. Admittedly, the reason why it was Tsui Wah was because they pulled through for us by being available past 9.30pm when most of the deliveries have called it a day.

A luncheon meat and egg sandwich that is superior to most if not all others in this country. I'm pretty sure the bread was steamed to get that soft texture and that was part of the appeal.

Home delivery from Sawadee Thai

Oddled Sawadee Thai. They're a little pricey but the food has always been very decent.

We ordered mostly what we've eaten from the restaurant before - like the roasted duck red curry which looked a lot prettier in the restaurant. Those warm lychees in the curry were still awesome.

Liked their tom kha gai. Still like it. Gotta remember to tell them lay off the coriander the next time. How could I have forgotten that?!

This was the only dish we've never tried before - seasonal vegetables with Hokkaido scallops it said on the menu. Was that napa cabbage? Scallops were tender and still had a little sweetness in them but I can't tell that they're from Hokkaido. Can anyone?

Their sweet steamed tapioca was tasty enough that we still had room for them after the meal. As good as I remembered them.

A bánh mì from O Banh Mi

O Banh Mi, pork chop bánh mì

I may have had a bánh mì from O Banh Mi prior to this but I'm not sure. Anyways, this was their pork chop bánh mì. Upsized. I don't have much references to what could be considered good ones but I though more vegetables would be nice. Those pickles were the only vegetables that were in the sandwich. Since I got this to go, I added sliced cheese and sprinkles of Tabasco to spruce up the flavour. Noice!

Ordering from New Ubin Seafood

The "circuit breaker" has allowed us me to experience first hand what food works for delivery and what doesn't work as well. Even though we've I've had our my own ideas on how different types of cooking take to delivery.

This was cze char lunch from New Ubin Seafood - we haven't eaten from them since their old days back in Sin Min.

New Ubin Seafood, crispy pork jowl

Their crispy pork jowl wasn't so crispy after sweating through delivery in their plastic containers, but I suspect this isn't really crispy even if you had them freshly cooked. Crisp exterior yes, but I don't think they were meant to be crispy as much as meaty. It's pork jowl after all. 

Note to self : the miso gula Melaka sauce that came with the jowl was really good.

New Ubin Seafood, fried fish roe with sambal chinchalok and petai

Between this and our recent episode with Hajah Maimunah, it was more fish roe than I normally eat in an average month. The sambal chinchalok gravy did look different from the last time we've had this dish. Dryer and more orange looking. It was still delicious. Wished there were more of that gravy and petai to go with the rice though.
