Got a nasi lemak with extra chicken wings from Nusa & Tara.😬 They didn't give me cucumbers today for some reason. I'm thinking of doing extra rice next time because there's just so much of that yummy sambal to go around.

A couple of more donuts from City Donut
Popped into City Donut since we happened to be in the vicinity.
Tried the 72% dark chocolate. Pretty rich chocolatey taste but not the particularly aromatic kind. Wouldn't bother with this again.
This key lime pistachio didn't taste bad but if one set their expectations from the name, it was kinda disappointing. Because I did. The pistachios weren't particularly aromatic and I wouldn't have known from taste alone that they were pistachios. Key lime flavour wasn't outstanding. Not a bad tasting donut but it's kinda sad when there are two main flavours and both aren't up to scratch.

Buttrmilk, Food Republic @ Shaw House
They (#B1-02 Shaw House, 350 Orchard Road) aren't as good as write ups online I've come across make them out to be. As fried chicken, they weren't bad per se but the meat tasted kinda bland. Most of the flavour were on the crust. These aren't even Chic-a-boo standards as fried chicken go. What surprised me though was the butter rice. I think it's just butter and some dried rosemary/oregano thing which was unexpectedly tasty.

Spicy savouries and walnut paste from Yat Ka Yan (一家人)
Trying some of the savoury food from Yat Ka Yan today. Yam cake's pretty peppery - much more so than most yam cakes we've had and it's not bad tasting. Between this and the one from Jia Ji, I still prefer the latter but I like the sweet sauce here better. Didn't taste like the usual sweet sauce.
Here's their curry yong tau foo. Was expecting something similar to Nonya styled curry with more coconut but they one they did wasn't coconut-y. This curry was more akin to the one from Nana in flavour but it wasn't exactly the same as well. Not a fan. Didn't mind the yong tau foo pieces so I might try the non-curry version the next time.
Walnut paste was pretty competent. Flavour from the walnut came through and the paste was viscous but not starchy. They got it right there.

$7 at Yuan Chun Famous Lor Mee (源春驰名卤面)
The price of the large bowl from Yuan Chun has gone up by a dollar since the last time but the bowl's still good and the toppings are still generous. For someone who's not exactly a fan of lor mee, I'm really digging this.

Omoté Cosmo, Raffles City
Decided to check out Omoté in town (#B1-44C Raffles City Shopping Centre, 252 North Bridge Road, tel +65 9899 3670). The menu's much smaller than their main outlet in Thomson and there appears to be "Korean" items on menu.
What have we here?
Just ikura chawanmushi. Not bad tasting.
Black truffle tako karaage was expensive and drenched in mediocrity. Batter was soggy from all the sweet sauce which I didn't expect to be all over the karaage. On top of that (the bottom actually), there's a pool of something that tasted like goma dressing at the bottom of the plate. Truffle flavour was faint at best. Wouldn't recommend it.
Tried their truffle roasted garlic chirashi - barely tasted any truffle and there was a sweet sauce (tasted like goma dressing as well) in it. If I had to describe this in a word, it would be 'edible'.
