Fan Ji Speciality Noodle (帆記特制麵), West Coast Drive

Fan Ji Speciality Noodle (帆記特制麵), West Coast Drive

Long story short, owner/noodle slinger Oliver graduated from being a customer -> fan -> godson > disciple and eventually successor to Ah Hoe Mee Pok. At least that's the story that's been told. The outcome is Fan Ji Speciality Noodle (501 West Coast Drive) which is located in the same spot that used to be Ah Hoe Mee Pok.

Menu looked the same. This was their No. 5 bowl which was their rendition of bak chor mee with fish maw. 加面 is free like how it was when it was Ah Hoe Mee Pok, but that above was it. Looked much like a regular portion from any other stalls. So without 加面, the bowl of noodles will be small.

Great texture on the mee pok. Love how much bite it has. Liked the saucing though. Spicy, savoury with a mild sweet undertone and a bit lardy.

Fan Ji Speciality Noodle (帆記特制麵), soup

Soup comes with minced pork, sliced pork, fish maw, fish dumpling and their Teochew dumpling. Soups gently sweet from possibly the pork and cabbage but still savoury and relatively clean tasting. I like it.

Said Teochew dumpling can be ordered separately. They're semi circular that slightly resembles sui gao/水饺 with dried soe/ti poh infused minced pork stuffings wrapped in wanton skin. Nice.
