Another chicken rice from Xiang Ji Hainanese Chicken Rice, Porridge and Noodle (香記海南雞飯, 粥, 面)

Been a while since the last time I ate at Xiang Ji. Ended up ordering almost the same thing. Except that this time I got poached chicken thigh instead of the "roasted" one. Here's a picture of a local happy meal. 😬

Revisiting Ah Heng Curry Chicken Bee Hoon Mee (亞王咖喱鸡米粉麵)

Has been a long time since I had a bowl of curry noodles from Ah Heng Curry Chicken Bee Hoon Mee. Chicken's kinda chicken-y and nice. While I don't dislike it, I still don't get the queue. I'd pick Cantonese Delights over this.

Duck breast and roast pork from 威胜碳烤烧腊

Back at 威胜碳烤烧腊. Got duck breast today which understandably had more chew to them than their drumsticks. But at least these weren't dry and/or hard. That herbal soup that they give on the side's pretty sweet and potent.

Capitol Bistro • Bar • Patisserie, Capitol Piazza

Some sweets from Capitol Bistro (#01-86/87 Arcade @ The Capitol Kempinski, 13 Stamford Road, tel : +65 6715 6877).

This one was call Elderberry Sphere I think. Underneath that outer layer was a sweet milky cream. Pleasantly so at that. Middle I'm guessing is the elderberry....compote? Tasted like blueberries. Nice.

Some mango mousse-y thingy. Great mango flavour spiked with robust citrus from passionfruit. Both desserts had these solid buttery crust.

There's turmeric latte. Didn't like it at the first sip but it strangely grew on me.

More beef kut teh from Wolfgang's Steakhouse

Back at Wolfgang's Steakhouse for more of their beef kut teh. Since this was available only for this month, we wanted to have it one more time before it's no longer around.

Each order of this is entitled to one free refill of the broth. Which we took advantage of today.

Plentiful fall off the bone tenderness on the rib.

Our vegetables of the day came in the form of their tasty creamed spinach. There's a flavour in those that reminded us of anchovies.

We got an additional portion of rice. Didn't expect that to be so big.

But we made short work of it folded with butter, creamed spinach and dark soya sauce. 👍🏼

We swapped the coconut ice cream with their mango sorbet today. It's ok but not great. The citrus wasn't coming through enough to be impressive. Now we know.

More aji katsu from Tonkatsu by Ma Maison

 

Everytime I have one of these from Tonkatsu by Ma Maison, I wonder why they don't bring the sanma katsu back.
