I was drawn in by the Miyazaki gyu katsu offering from Ginza Anzu even though our previous experiences with gyu katsu in general hasn't been all that great. Pretty glad we did.
I don't know if it was because of the Miyazaki wagyu or just adequate salting of the meat, but this was way more enjoyable than any of the previous ones we've had. These cutlets were sufficiently savoury and beefy that none of the dips were necessary. It's pretty good with their wasabi though.
Admittedly, only the center few pieces were nice and pink. The ones at the edges were more well done.
Something here called flavoured vegetables katsu - which was odd because it included an ebi katsu in it as well. One consisted of strips of gobo, another had pumpkin wrapped in cabbage leaves and there were a couple cherry tomato katsu as well. Lots of crunch from the former two items. These vegetable katsus weren't bad tasting.
