Teh tarik cream puff and latte from Baristart

Baristart Coffee, teh tarik cream puff

Baristart Coffee has a teh tarik flavoured cream puff for the month.

I liked it. The tea flavour was pretty strong but we were also reminded of cha ron. Not just teh tarik.

Baristart Coffee, latte

Latte's weak. Needs another shot to be real coffee. Was pretty smooth though.

Of peachy black tea and eggy coffee...

123 ZÔ, peach tea egg coffee

We came back to 123 ZÔ for drinks because we liked their peach black tea and egg coffee.

123 ZÔ, peach tea

Shaken not stirred. In a cocktail shaker no less.

123 ZÔ, peach tea

It's probably tea with canned peach syrup and a couple of slices of peaches but it's a pretty darn good rendition.

123 ZÔ, egg coffee

A tealight keeps their ca phe trung hot.

123 ZÔ, egg coffee

We noticed the staff painstakingly froth the egg by hand. That egg foam was sweet, cinnamon flavoured and kept afloat throughout. Nice.

Mr Meepok, ABC Brickworks Food Centre

Mr Meepok, signature mee pok

Mr Meepok (#01-140 ABC Brickworks Food Centre, 6 Jalan Bukit Merah) is relatively new, operated by a couple of young guys. The menu looked to be mostly meepok and they even have their rendition of mazesoba. Here's their signature minced meat noodle which came with a meat roll and onsen egg on top of the usual minced pork, meatball and stewed mushrooms.

There's a sweetness in the saucing which I'm not a fan of but otherwise this tasted pretty much like how it looked. Also didn't taste lard-y. What they provided on top of the usual trappings is a lime-y chilli sauce which the other minced meat noodle stalls don't normally have.

McGrddl Stck

McDonald's, McGriddles Stack

Just clocking in another McGriddle Stack for the season before they disappear again. These should just stay on the menu.

Thong Sum Dessert (糖心), Golden Mile Food Centre

Thong Sum Dessert (糖心), sweet corn terigu

This was a bowl of sweet corn terigu - their rendition of the more commonly encountered bubur terigu which was obviously not made with gula melaka. There's the standard white wheat and also sweet corn. I wonder why it's call sweet corn because they're actually a little salty. The dessert's coconut-y and.......it's not too sweet - possibly the highest echelon of praise for dessert in Chinese culture 😂.  Will be back to try the other 糖水 from them (#01-83 Golden Mile Food Centre, 505 Beach Road).

Bosphorus Turkish Kebap, Golden Mile Food Centre

Bosphorus Turkish Kebap, doner chips cheese

Came across this kebab stall (#B1-28 Golden Mile Food Centre, 505 Beach Road) in our previous visits and we came back to try it. They're located at the zone where the Muslim food stalls are. Decided to hell with the healthier option and got a plate of kebab with chips and cheese. Potatoes appear to be freshly fried.

The cheese didn't melt. Don't know what kind of mozzarella it was but it only softened after being exposed to the hot potato and warm chicken. Speaking of which, the chicken was mostly pre-sliced off the vertical spit so some were a little dry. They weren't bad tasting but it's worth nothing that they also weren't even as aromatic/flavourful as Stuff'd. No cumin here.
