Gong He Guan (恭和馆), walnut paste

Pretty sure I've had desserts at Gong He Guan (28 Upper Cross Street, tel : +65 6223 0562) in the past but apparently I haven't talked about them. So here's me not sure about how I'm feeling about their walnut paste. There's definitely walnut flavour but the viscosity was lacking. Felt somewhat thin compared to say Yat Ka Yan. Wouldn't say that it's bad but I also didn't like it so much.

Milk tea with gui lin gao (龟苓膏) was not bad. Tea's not as diluted as I was led to believe from appearances.

Let's eat Prata Saga Sambal Berlada

The signboard for Prata Saga Sambal Berlada has changed. The cleaner looking update has in big and blue the words jom makan which translates from Malay to 'let's eat'.

That's their prata bom - unrecognizeable I know since it's just prata with condensed milk. There's a light crisp on the surface and yummy where there's condensed milk; though said condensed milk was not evenly distributed.

Got a double cheese prata. I don't know how much cheese there is usually on the regular cheese prata version so I can't tell if this was really double of that. But it was cheesy for sure. Salty, milky kind of cheesy which also paired nicely with the dalcha and the sambal. I'm thinking this would be great with sugar as well.

Healthy Soba IKI (十一十二十三十四十五十六十七十八十九has a new shop at 100AM (#02-15&28 100AM, 100 Tras Street). We came over to support Noguchi-san. Quality of their noodles is still as good over here.

Current seasonal soba comes with hotaru ika. The broth was nothing short of refreshing. What I did not see coming with this bowl, was that one of the initial flavour that registered was actually olive oil. Healthy Soba IKI has always used a nice fruity olive oil.

Their donburi has at least a couple of new options. This one was mentaiko tororo. Delicious with a splash of shoyu and some wasabi.

More cakes from The Homme Baker

Back at The Homme Baker. We found out how they made their mandarin orange cake so orange-y today.

Their spicy bak kwa cheesecake is no longer available. We got the dark chocolate banoffee which was not bad tasting as well on the account of the caramel and banana flavour.

I like the lavender lemon cake. Nice lemon curd, a good hit of lavender and dense crumbly texture.

This one was a toffee cashew cake. Dense looking but pretty soft. Was nice for a while on the account of the toffee and cashew but it wore out pretty fast. Was hoping for those cashews to be more crunchy.

Mutton murtabak from Brinda's

So I got a mutton murtabak from Brinda's. It was a lot less crisp than what I was expecting. Scratch that, there's no crisp at all. The skin was soft and a little chewy. There's minced mutton and egg but I don't actually know if there were any onions. Did not taste bad if you didn't mind it that way.

Ganjang gejang and the pork set at The Gogijip (고깃집)

I've never noticed the crab at The Gojigip. But I guess it made sense since ganjang gejang is featured more prominently in their menu these days. Anyways this was a dinner with their pork set and ganjang gejang.

Kimchi jjigae's okay. It's a nice break between the greasy meat.

Crabs were okay and I think the quality isn't top notch.

First time getting bibim naenmyeon. I guess it tasted like how I imagined them.

Gyeran jjim was unexpectedly tasty today. Must be because of those burnt edges which I normally don't like.
