Essentially, this was the classic pastrami on toasted rye from Seah Street Deli (1 Beach Road, Raffles Hotel, tel : +65 6412 1110) with a little difference. There was actually fennel seeds in the bread which added some sort of dimension to the flavors instead of the usual meat and bread taste that one expected. I must say that I kinda like this. Even the fries on the side tasted a lot better than it looked. Also, this could probably be one of the better tasting sandwiches around town that I've had even though I definitely have a couple of gripes about it. For one, a little more generosity with the pastrami would definitely have up the ratings of the sandwich, applying the same to the paper thin slices of swiss cheese within as well. Which leads me to the next point. $23 is really quite pricey for a sandwich.
