These strawberry mochi xiao long bao from Din Tai Fung were pretty good. There's a layer of tender chewy mochi under the wrapper filled with scalding hot strawberry sauce. Should have ordered the larger basket. 😬

Kim's Roast (金品烧味), Syed Alwi Road
Kim's Roast (217 Syed Alwi Road) is located at the same coffee shop as The Beef House. We were drawn to them by what we've seen of their roasts online.
Got a plate of 油饭 with char siew and dang gui roast duck. And a few pieces of remaining off cuts of roast pork which the stall threw in for free.
They're all pretty good. Love the sweet caramelized char siew and from what we've had of the roast pork, we know we'll be coming back another time for more them.
A closer look at those fatty layers in the char siew. We'll be coming back for those too.

Getting chicken rice from Dian Xiao Er
Dian Xiao Er has chicken rice these days. Only available in a few of their branches it seems. It's an unexpected turn of events since they have been, and are still known for their roasted ducks.
Some passion fruit drink call Vita Charge Passion Fruit. Pretty refreshing. Did enjoy it even though it wasn't as gao as I imagined.
There's a decent homemade tofu with conpoy, crabmeat and luffa on the menu. The sauce in it was savoury and eggy.
Their poached chicken - I thought what they have done was pretty respectable. Got ourselves a half chicken serving. Bird was chilled and pretty tender. That said, it didn't have the "slurp off the bone easily" quality that stalls like Sin Kee can do. Not a deal breaker that.
Competently done rice (油饭) they did with a hint of ginger.

Dinner at Dulukala
Back at Dulukala for dinner. Lots of gravies and a nice sambal belachan to ladle over their dry boring rice.
Chap chye.
Sauce from the babi pongteh was less intense with that fermented soybean flavour than I had been imagining. Otherwise the pork belly was pretty tender.
Otah's pretty good. Filled with chunks of fish.
Nice assam fish head. The assam gravy was deliciously fruity, lightly spicy and addictive. Something about it kept me thinking that there was pineapple in it.
This was supposed to be chinchalok omelette but there was very little chinchalok in it.

Kayago and Popeye's Fav. from Two Men Bagel House
Back at Two Men Bagel House
Kayago in sesame bagel. According to the menu, it's smoked chicken ham, chicken floss, TMBH kaya, smoked Kewpie mayo, buttermilk scrambled eggs. Most of that kaya was lost amongst the other stuff in the bagel. Most, not all. Not bad tasting.
This was Popeye's Fav. in plain bagel. A smoked salmon and creamed spinach thingy. Also not bad tasting.

Spring Roll Station, Upper Cross Street
Got wind of Spring Roll Station (Kou Wei Eating House, #01-170, 34 Upper Cross Street). The stall's located in a coffeeshop filled with many/mostly old uncles drinking beer.
Gỏi cuốn with prawns - these were pretty basic without basil or mint. Even the sauce didn't have any peanuts.
Phở gà came with a lime. Use the lime. The chicken-y broth was much better with it. Not a bad tasting bowl.
Not a fan of their glutinous rice (xôi xéo?). Rice was dry and bland. Pate topping wasn't particularly delicious. Those shallots in it came from a plastic pack so they were relatively tasteless.
